We only have one “self” but sometimes, we tend to have different personalities in front of different people.
It’s like, when we’re around with this group of people (probably those we do not like), we are the kind of person who is careful to everything that we say or do (because we’re afraid to get criticized).
Otherwise, when we are with a clique (whom we like), we are the kind of person who just acts naturally (even without having the need to pretend).
Or maybe when we are not in the mood for talking or mingling with anyone, we become someone as vague as a blank paper.
We could be someone who laughs so hard, someone as scary as hell or someone who doesn’t have too much emotions.
This tendency to have different personalities can be called “chameleoning”– the ability to cope up with the current environment to be able to hide one’s true self.
It is not a bad thing actually.
It only gets bad when we do it behind people’s back.
