Of Life and Losing a Loved One

Losing a loved one does not mean that you also have to lose yourself in the process of moving on with that tragic moment. At first, of course, you have all the right to be sad and weep for your loss but it’s definitely pathetic if you can hardly live your life without them.

A thing lost can never be regained especially if it’s in the will of the Lord. So, when you are currently experiencing such trial, don’t ever ask God why of all people, you were the one whom He had taken a loved one. Instead, be thankful that although you lost a person so dear to you, He is always ready to give you His helping hand whenever you call.

When your life gets a little messy because of problems, don’t say, “God, I have a big problem,” rather, say, “Problem, I have a big God.” And if you do, you’ll make an exceptionally tough person out of you–tough enough to withstand any obstacles and pound any impediments.

Acceptance

There are times when I wake up looking for answers for all of my questions: “Why am I not yet there? What’s taking me too long? Where on Earth can I find what I am looking for? Who am I really?”

But then after a few moments, I realize that not all of my questions have an answer, that I should just let some things be and at the end of the day, what’s more important is that I exist.

Though we don’t understand some things in life, why they happen and what they are for, we just have to accept the fact that they happen, whether we like it or not. And since we cannot do anything about it, all we are left to do is just to accept it.

“We”

In our everyday lives, we often think about what we want– what would suit us, what would be in our favor and what would be beneficial for our own sake.

At some point in our lives, why don’t we think about other people’s sake first before thinking about ourselves? There is absolutely nothing wrong with having a “ME” attitude. But maybe, just maybe, when we all learn to consider other people and things, we will all become a better person.

Remember, we can never be the very best but somehow, we can live a happy life by simply being a person a lot better than what we’ve always been.

Happiness

Life is an unending series of finding something that will make us happy. We may find one thing that makes our heart beat fast, that makes us jump for joy and that makes us feel like we’re in a carousel but then again, when we’re done feeling the feeling of happiness, we may suddenly lose our interest on that something. And so we tend to look for another thing that would bring another kind of happiness, or maybe just the same but in another level.

True enough, we will only know what makes us happy if we let our hearts decide what it really wants because to be happy is one thing but staying happy is another thing.

We should always find happiness in everything that we do. Who knows if it might be our last chance to be happy and experience just being able to feel alive.

Happiness

Others Above Self

In our everyday lives, we often think about what we want– what would be suited for us, what would be in our favor, what are the things and people we deserve and what would be beneficial for our own sake.

In this era of high-technology, it seems like everybody was taken away by these vast innovations and bit by bit, we forget what the true meaning of life and living is.

At some point in our lives, why don’t we think about other people’s sake first before thinking about ours? Why don’t we  make a way to give them what they deserve instead of persuading others to give us what we deserve? Why don’t we become considerate of what makes them happy and not be so naive to even remember that our Moms love anything as long as it came from us or that our Dad is a solid Lakers fan or that our friend likes Hello Kitty?

There is absolutely nothing wrong with having a “ME” attitude. But maybe, just maybe, when we all learn to consider other people and things, we would all become a better person. We would know how to sacrifice our own happiness just so someone could be happy. We could be at peace because we wouldn’t be bothered if someone got a higher score in an exam than us or if our colleague got promoted early. But most importantly, we would know how to wholeheartedly give without expecting anything in return.

Remember, we can never be the very best but somehow, we can live a happy life by simply being a person a lot better than what we’ve always been.

Friend

Next to life, friendship is the most valuable thing. It is the building blocks of all human relationships. When you found someone you can laugh at your mistakes with, someone you can cry your pains with and someone you can share your dreams with, that someone is undeniably called a “friend”. Nobody cares for you as gentle as a friend. No one could ever love you as sweet as a friend. And nothing in this world would ever replace a friend as your most valuable belonging.

You see, even the best lovers once started just as friends and a perfect family is always established with a friendly affection towards each other. There is really no successful bond that was not built with a simple dose of friendship.

At least once in our lives, we’ll find a friend. But it doesn’t matter if we have too many or just a few friends. As long as they’re real and worthy to be called a friend, they are meant to stay in our lives, no matter what.
